There is no other word to describe G-d as accurately as the word independent, whereas the neshama was created by G-d and is fully dependent upon Him for its existence. How does this play out in the world? Everything that has been created can be summarized in one word - hatava, the desire of G-d to be a benefactor. We were created to be the recipients of this Good.
